A Little Bit About Me

Trying something new - working backstage instead of on it.

I grew up in a home full of impromptu dance parties, sessions of ‘pretend’ with my siblings, a wide variety of movies, and countless nights of watching my parents perform at local theatres around town. I’m grateful that my parents decided to continue their performance careers, even after my older brother and I were born - it lit an artistic fire within us both.

My mom was pregnant with my little sister when she performed in the Arkansas Repertory Theatre’s production of Cinderella. This was the first tangible moment I knew I wanted to be a stage actress. I wanted to be just like my mom. As I grew older, the dream became fully my own. I performed every single chance I could get - with my local children’s theatre, in school productions, with my homeschool acting troupe, every church drama sketch, and with Central Arkansas’ only professional theatre, The Arkansas Rep. At The Rep, I was encouraged, inspired, and equipped to act in a professional setting. I realized that theatre could become my career - not just a side gig. This epiphany led to my choice to major in Theatre at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. The intimate relationships that could be cultivated within such a small school and department and the dedication to putting on professional level productions made Harding the perfect fit for my undergraduate education.

I have had the opportunity to perform in multiple faculty and student directed productions. I’ve also taken voice lessons every semester, joined an accapella worship group, choreographed, designed makeup looks, and directed my own ten-minute and one-act play. Say what you will about small universities - my experience has been one of abundant opportunities.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting in the spring of 2021. I currently work as a lead stage technician at Sight & Sound Theatres, located in Branson, Missouri.
